Sustainable Hospitality Conference Drew Over 50 Organizations!

Text Box: Lincoln, New Hampshire - The New Hampshire Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Program’s Sustainable Hospitality Conference drew close to ninety attendees from over 50 organizations in the state.  The conference was hosted by the InnSeason Resort South Mountain and Village Shops.  The property’s General Manager, Brian Baker, said “ We felt it is our duty to answer the call of our industry’s needs. “ [to understand how we can be more sustainable].
The conference keynote speakers, Matt Moore, Director of Rooms and Environmental Programs at the Seaport Hotel in Boston and Rauni Kew, Marketing Director at the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine drew rave reviews from all in attendance with their respective discussion on Going Green to Save Green and Developing Sense of Place at Your Property.  The conference also offered twelve break-out sessions for attendees to explore their own areas of interest.  The break-out sessions included; Energy Efficiency & Conservation, Alternative Energy Options in New Hampshire & USDA Funding Opportunities, Lodging & Restaurant Panels on Greening Issues, Getting Sustainability Going at Your Property, Green Meetings & Conferences, Developing Local Partnerships, Green and Clean Interiors, Composting Solutions for Hospitality, NH’s Environmental Leadership Initiative, NH’s Changing Climate & What We Can Do Right Here and Evaluating Your Carbon Footprint.
